Food and memories…

Since Thanksgiving is right around the corner, I’ve really been thinking about food and how it creates memories. It’s fun to think back at Thanksgivings throughout the years. The ones from childhood, and growing up. And the ones with my husband’s family. And those thanksgivings as a married couple and now with kids. Wow, there are a lot of great memories!
Holidays are always changing. Especially when you grow up and have your own family. You never really realize in the moment that what your experiencing now, won’t ever be the same. Sure, we can try and create traditions to try and keep it the same. But like it or not, life is always changing. But I do love traditions and doing my best to keep them alive.
My mom is usually the one to host Thanksgiving, and I’m so thankful for that! Of course, I love finding new recipes but nothing beats the classic thanksgiving meal I grew up with. It’s my favorite! Just like her Italian spaghetti and meatballs. There is something that is so comforting. Thank you mom!!
It’s all about food creating those memories. I hope with my children, I can create those memories too!! What is your favorite food memory? It sure is fun to think about….

The one dish I absolutely love and wanted to share with you is my mom’s creamed corn… She texted me her recipe.
Mom’s cream corn:
Typically 2 cans creamed style corn, 1/3 of a sleeve of crackers, crushed, 1 egg, 1/3 cup of milk, salt and pepper. Mix and bake till it’s not runny.
Happy traditions,
❤️April
