Are you ready to get back to the healthy you?
I know I am. I wanted to share this not only as a motivation for myself but to hopefully inspire others. Life is all about finding inspiration and acting on it! We can all become a better version of ourselves each and every day!
Maybe you can relate to some of this? Whatever the reason, sometimes things in life can take you away from what’s truly important, like your health. Maybe it’s work, kids or just life in general.
The world around us is moving so fast. With the ups and downs in life, sometimes it feels like we are on a roller coaster ride. Especially now with the coronavirus. Things are slower, but also so different and unpredictable. The good thing is, with this current situation it allows you to re-evaluate what’s truly important.
Speaking of goals, at times you might be 100% focused and disciplined, and then other times that focus can easily go out the window. Yes, I’m speaking from experience. But that’s what makes us human.
For some, routines come easy, and for others, it’s a constant struggle. It’s the same as being healthy. First of all, don’t compare yourself to others. You can look to others for inspiration, but don’t beat yourself up over it. If it’s something you really want or aspire to be like, with hard work you can do anything!
Why do we make excuses to avoid it?
Let’s be honest, change is hard! Creating a new routine can sometimes help with the change. Other times it might take some trial and error to see what works.
If our ultimate goal is to be happy, then why do we avoid the things that will fix it? Do we think it’s going to be too hard? Or maybe, we are simply just not ready to commit. Creating excuses might be easier at the time, but it doesn’t solve the root of the problem.
When you finally get to that point of enough is enough, it just might be exactly the motivation you need. Whether it be adopting a new lifestyle of working out, or avoiding certain vices, or possibly just introducing a new way of eating. It can all be changed with time, dedication, and hard work!
You might find that your health in one area of your life is good but it’s lacking in another. No one is perfect. We are all human, and it’s important to know that trying is the first step in the right direction. Every day, every decision can either put a positive or negative tone to your day. Remember you set the expectations for yourself and your life.
Remember it takes 21 days to create a habit, or break one.
Decide what needs to change. The real question is… what will truly make you happy? You need to picture it and figure out the steps to get you there. For me being healthy doesn’t only mean eating healthy but it also involves being active. That’s something I need to work on.
It’s important to find inspiration to steer you in the right direction.
We all need a push once in a while. We all know how good it feels to accomplish something. You’ll never regret doing it, you’ll always regret not doing it. Let that sink in. If you do nothing now, a year from now you’ll wish you would have started today! So go for it!!
You’ll never regret allowing yourself the time to workout. You’ll also never regret learning something new. Making a choice to put those workout clothes on, or deciding not to buy something you overindulge on is hard at first, but eventually, you will be proud you made a change. Little changes add up!
Last night, I turned on Netflix and found a series called Bringing Sexy Back. It was about a couple that had gained a bunch of weight after being married for 14 years and 2 children. For some reason, this episode was so inspiring to me. After 4 months of them ditching pop, takeout, and also working on themselves, they looked amazing! They were also beaming with happiness!
Believe me, I know how easy it is to love soda. We try not to buy it, but when we do it’s gone as soon as we open it! I also know how easy takeout can be when your busy, or don’t want to cook. It also made me think about how important it is to learn to cook, and just how healthier your meals can be if you prepare them yourself.
